To develop managed code (read .NET) apps for the Pocket PC you need: 1) Visual Studio.NET 2003 2) Download link for Pocket PC 2003 SDK 3) Pocket PC 2003 API Reference Here is the VS.NET 2003 pricing page Note the upgrade price from VS.NET 2002 to VS.NET 2003 is only $29. All three versions of VS.NET 2003 support Pocket PC application development. Rather than buy the full version of VS.NET pick up a MSDN subscription - you will get a lot more bang for your buck. Other: 1) What is the .NET Compact Framework? 2) Read this overview as well 3) Note to run eVB apps on Pocket PC 2003 you need the eVB runtimes. 4) Download link for SQL Server CE 2000; also read this wrt to IIS and SQL Server 2000 SP 3 5) FWIW here' s the download for the .NET Compact Framework redistributable. Note you do need VS.NET 2003 to develop .NET CF apps.
