BillRyan -> A few new books from Addison-Wesley (5/11/2004 1:20:03 AM)

A few months back, I had some contact with the lovely ladies of Addison-Wesley. The .NET Development series, as I've said before, is pretty much fantastic. Well, I'm working a review of Christian Nagel's Essential .NET Services. What a dream to work with. Cool content written by someone who obviously is quite comfortable in the big leagues. Enterprise development is coming whether you like it or not, so there's no better time than now to hop on the bandwagon. And while I'm talking about cool books about to be released. I had the distinct pleasure of getting a copy of Paul Yao's book in advance. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the MVP Summit and I could tell he was dedicated to his craft. Looks like this will be the biggest CF book to date and it really covers everything, and covers everything in depth This book needs to hit the shelves yesterday. I'll be posting reviews here on it but i can tell you already it's a winner. Another book you might want to be interested in is Doub Boilings Windows CE book. He was one of the most intense people I've come across and exactly the type of guy you want writing your software or books you read. I can't see a single detail slipping by either him or Paul. Considering the great work done by Andy Wigley and Steven Wheelwrigth, Dan Fergus and Larry Roof, Jon Box and Dan Fox and finally Rob Tiffany, the Compact Framework is finally coming of age. Throw in all the stuff the guys at www.opennetcf.org have done and the work we're doing here... this is a good time to be a CF Developer - it's also a pretty good time for me to go to sleep.
